Do other schools have their AGM at the beginning of the year? Last year we talked about moving ours to the end of the year, so that we could use it as a showcase for the years activities. We really need new parents to fill some of the roles though, so it makes sense to have the elections at the beginning of the year when there are some fresh faces in the room. I still think the end of the year would be better (and really I think the new parents should get away without having to take a position the first year ).

I'm interested in how other schools handle the issue.

Our school does it all at the start of the year, we get the election forms sent out by mail, which positions are avaliable and need to be filled, then the AGM a week later to see the candidates, then the official AGM after that.
