In Victoria Education Week runs from 18-24 May 2008. As part of this week many schools hold open days/evenings and this can be a great opportunity to go and get a feel for how a school runs. There is some information on the government website: http://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/events/edweek/default.htm , although it may be better to approach schools individually to see if they are doing anything special.
